Guidelines

Who can use the TRCS?

Non-DFID Enquirers

We can provide support and advice to transport planners and researchers working in or for the benefit of the developing world, including:

-Government bodies at the national, regional and local level
-Non-governmental organisations
-Training organisations or academic institutions either based in the developing world or with a high proportion of students from the developing world
-Those who work for DFID (this does not include those contracted to work for DFID)

You are eligible to use the TRCS if you come into one of the above categories and have a genuine request for one of our services. We reserve the right to refuse to respond to an enquirer we know or suspect to be outside these criteria.

Although the Transport Resource Centre Scheme is free, it is not intended for use by commercial organisations, consultants, students or organisations working in the European Community, North America or other developed nations. We can undertake work for these organisations/individuals, however it will be necessary to charge for this service.

DFID Enquirers

Any enquiry from DFID can be processed through the TRCS without necessaarily invoking a call down contract. For more details please email twallwork@trl.co.uk.

Universities and training centres

In the past the TRCS has provided subsidised lectures at universities with a high proportion of students from the developing world. If the TRCS has a specialist with expertise currently unavailable at your university, you may be eligible for help in this area. For more information please contact us.
