A Knowledge Demand Assessment for the Transport and Rural Infrastructure Services Partnership (TRISP)

The World Bank UK Department for International Development (DFID) Transport and Rural Infrastructure Services Learning and Sharing Project (TRISP) aims to strengthen the demand for, and improve access to relevant knowledge for stakeholders working in transport and rural utilities in developing countries. The first phase seeks to identify the demand for information and knowledge; the most appropriate way of delivering it; map existing sources and make recommendations for improvements.

Initial work will include a literature review , interviews with key informants in the World Bank, DFID and other organisations working in the sector, and stakeholder workshops in the UK, Peru and Zimbabwe. The results of these activities will be supplemented by an electronic questionnaire to a broad group of stakeholders, an e-conference based on information posted on this project web-site, and follow-up discussions with key staff in DFID and the World Bank.

The TRISP Assessing Knowledge Demand web page is a commitment to communicating not only the results of this first phase, but the process as a whole. We invite you to influence the questions we ask, and to shape to the answers we find during this investigation by filling in the questionnaire, attending the workshops, joining in the e-discussion or contacting us. We welcome all feedback.
