JISCmail is a service that allows UK academics and support staff
to join, create and manage electronic discussion lists. Electronic
discussion lists enable members of the UK higher and further education
and research communities to communicate rapidly with national
and international communities of scholars with a common interest.
List members can share ideas, collaborate on projects, announce
events, seek advice and generally keep up-to-date with new ideas.
The rural transport and development mailing list is administered
by I.T. Transport Ltd. The electronic mails are classified by
month and subject. It is used mainly to share information about
forthcoming events in the sector. There is no information about
its size or its members. This list could be used as a platform
for dissemination of information.
